I shouldn’t have left without saying “I love you”
But I could have left without causing a scene
Both of them in tears on the couch
And me, tired, poorly shaven
I got up, and shut the door
I left my toothbrush with yours
The one I used on the weekends
And I didn’t have the courage to take it away
When I saw yours next to mine
I got up, and shut the door
